In her remarks, Superintendent Kirkpatrick appealed directly to residents: "Please be mindful. We know or have asked for pictures of these escapees from the sheriff's office... We do also want to make an appeal to the public that if you see something, and you just think this is not right, don't hesitate. Call 911."
Local authorities have cautioned that anyone found assisting an escapee will face charges as an accomplice. The search effort includes a specialized violent offender warrant squad, with additional support from the FBI and U.S. Marshals. At least one of the escapees has reportedly already been apprehended.
