Jordon Hudson Misses Bill Belichick’s ‘Good Morning America’ Interview Following CBS Controversy

Bill Belichick, the celebrated former New England Patriots head coach, continued his recent media tour promoting his new book with an appearance on "Good Morning America" Friday. The interview came amid swirling attention surrounding his personal life—specifically, his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.

Belichick's discussion with host Michael Strahan, who famously played against him in Super Bowl XLII, was candid but measured when addressing Hudson's role both in his life and in the book’s development. Notably, Hudson was not present in the studio during the GMA interview, a contrast to earlier this month when she interrupted a CBS News segment, reportedly to steer conversation away from questions about their relationship.

Strahan pressed Belichick on Hudson's influence, to which Belichick responded:

“She’s been through the whole process. She’s been very helpful to me. She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life so I can concentrate in football, and that’s what I want to do,” he said. “I acknowledged her in the book, she was very helpful in the tribute pages, and giving a perspective of the book from a business side. Sometimes, I get a little football technical, so she did a good job of keeping me on balance there.”

Despite pressure for more personal details, Belichick demurred, saying only that it is a “good personal relationship.” He jokingly scolded Strahan for venturing too far into private matters but kept the tone light.

When asked simply if he was happy, Belichick answered, “yeah.” The conversation also turned playful, as Belichick referenced a recent viral yoga post featuring the couple, admitting he has a “long way to go” in mastering the practice.

The earlier CBS News interview with Belichick gained notoriety after reports that Hudson intervened several times to redirect the conversation and even exited the set, postponing the segment by half an hour. Belichick later released a statement expressing surprise at pointed questions about his relationship. He defended Hudson’s actions as part of her professional responsibilities and accused CBS of fostering a “false narrative” through selective editing.

CBS refuted Belichick’s account, standing by their original reporting.

In a separate interview with ESPN, Belichick emphasized that Hudson is not involved with University of North Carolina (UNC) football, a clarification following speculation about her influence beyond his personal affairs.

  • Belichick continues to promote his book amid significant public scrutiny.
  • Hudson has taken an active role behind the scenes, particularly in business matters.
  • Questions about their relationship have at times overshadowed the media tour.

As the spotlight intensifies, Belichick remains focused on sharing his football insights while carefully navigating questions about his private life.
