Trump Fires Back at Springsteen, Calls Him 'Highly Overrated' Following 'Treasonous' Remark Abroad

Former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on musician Bruce Springsteen Friday, calling the rock legend "highly overrated" following Springsteen’s critical comments about the Trump administration during a recent concert in England.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his longstanding disapproval of Springsteen and dismissed both the singer’s music and his political views. “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics,” Trump wrote. He further accused Springsteen of being “not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.”

The remarks from Trump followed Springsteen’s statements made during the first of several shows in Manchester, England, where the performer addressed the crowd with a pointed critique of Trump's tenure. “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll in dangerous times,” Springsteen told concertgoers. He continued, “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration.” The crowd reportedly responded with loud applause.

Springsteen, an outspoken critic of Trump throughout the latter’s presidency, used the occasion to urge fans to take a stand against authoritarianism. “Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!” he declared in a message shared on his YouTube channel.

Trump, in his social media post, escalated his criticism, referring to President Biden as “Sleepy Joe” and describing Springsteen as “dumb as a rock.” He also added, “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”

Springsteen has long aligned himself with Democratic candidates, having notably endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the last presidential election. In an Instagram video, Springsteen warned voters about Trump, labeling him “the most dangerous candidate for President in my lifetime” with a “disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power.”

In the weeks leading up to Election Day, the Harris campaign teamed up with Springsteen for a concert series in key battleground states. This effort was intended to mobilize voters and energize support for Democratic candidates.
